Golf Holiday Itinerary
Arrive at Cape Town International. You’ll be welcomed at the airport by a Drommedaris Golf Guide, who will assist with your luggage and transfer you in comfort to the Table Bay Hotel, located at the V&A Waterfront. Explore the V&A Waterfront at your own pace and return to the hotel after dinner.
Once you’ve enjoyed breakfast you’ll be transferred to Clovelly Golf Course. Once only a nine-hole and mainly sand course, Clovelly was designed by Dr Charles Molteno Murray, one of the best known golf architects of his day. Advocate Bobby Lewin was responsible for much of the magnificent landscaping.
After golf you’ll be visiting the nearby town Hermanus. This location is regard as the best land based whale watching destination in the world. Enjoy a drink at one of the cafes overlooking the bay and see the majestic giants of the ocean swimming a mere stone’s throw away. Return to the hotel before dinner.
When it’s not whale season, you can opt to visit Cape Point, located at the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve.
After breakfast you’ll be visiting some of Cape Town’s famous tourist attractions, including Table Mountain, the penguins at Boulders Beach and the Castle of Good Hope. Return to the hotel before dinner
Tee off at Steenberg Golf Course after breakfast. Designed by Peter Matkovich, the course takes full advantage of natural features and hazards and is rated as one of the top three courses to visit in South Africa. Steeped in the Cape Dutch tradition, history has an elegant, almost tangible quality at Steenberg. Visit the Steenberg Winery before returning to the hotel.
Check out after breakfast. Meet your guide at reception for your transfer to Cape Town Airport, where you’ll be boarding your short flight to George.
Upon arrival at George Airport you’ll be welcomed by a Drommedaris Golf Guide, who will assist with your luggage and transfer you in comfort to Botlierskop Private Game Reserve. Check in and go on an afternoon ranger guided safari before dinner. All meals and safaris are inluded during your stay at Botlierskop.
Full day safari. Botlierskop is a well stocked, free roaming private game reserve, which gives visitors the opportunity to view African wildlife from the safety of 4×4 vehicles, in its natural habitat. Rhino’s, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, eland, bontebuck and 26 more species, make up a total of more than 1800 animals.
Check out after breakfast and meet your guide at reception for your transfer to Fancourt Golf Resort, home of the 2003 Presidents Cup. Check in and spend the remainder of the day relaxing beside the pool or at the spa.
After breakfast you’ll be teeing off at Fancourt Links Golf Course. The Links at Fancourt is considered to be the most impressively designed and constructed course in South Africa. Every hole has received detailed attention to ensure that the overall balance in terms of length, position of hazards and shot values are in harmony. Spend the rest of the day discovering Fancourt at your own pace. Half day tours to interesting locations around the Garden Route can be booked at Fancourt Reception.
Play a round of golf at Fancourt Montagu after breakfast. The Montagu is a much celebrated parkland course and has been ranked as the number-one golf course in South Africa in the past. Spend the remainder of the day rejuvinating body and mind at the world renowned Fancourt Health Spa.
Check out after breakfast and morning at leisure. The Fancourt Chauffeur will transfer you to George Airport, where you’ll board the short flight back to Cape Town. Upon arrival you’ll be welcomed by a Drommedaris Golf Guide. Transfer to Oude Werf Hotel
, located in the heart of historic Stellenbosch. After checking in your guide will take you on a relaxing orientation tour around Stellenbosch.
Have a delicious breakfast before your transfer to De Zalze Golf Course. The De Zalze Golf Course was designed by Peter Matkovich (course architect for both Leopard Rock and Arabella) who has made the most of this stunning setting and created a course that places a premium on accuracy. Visit the Spier Winery at De Zalze before returning to the hotel. Spend the evening at leisure after dinner.
Meet your guide at reception after breakfast. Today you’ll embark on a full day wine tasting tour. The Cape Winelands are surrounded by majestic mountain ranges and fertile green valleys. The region has a Mediterranean climate and the winter rainfall of the south-western Cape helps producing some of the best wines in the world. Towns and villages in the Cape Winelands have many historic homesteads, museums and monuments to discover. Visit famous wine estates such as Boschendal and La Motte before returning to the hotel.
Tee off at Pearl Valley Golf Course after breakfast. Although no individual can lay claim to the overall design of Pearl Valley, the masterplan was shaped by the vision of Jack Nicklaus. This golf legend sees the Pearl Valley course as the sum of his knowledge and his experience. Return to the hotel after golf and spend the remainder of the day discovering Stellenbosch’s many shops, museums, galleries, cafes and restaurants at your own pace.
Enjoy breakfast and a relaxing morning at the hotel before checking out. Meet your guide at reception for your transfer back to Cape Town International, where you can do some last minute duty free shopping before boarding your flight back home.
