Nestled among the Sandhills of North
Carolina, Pinehurst Resort invites you to become part of its history and to experience southern
hospitality, elegant accommodation, luxury spa facilities, family recreational activities, and of
course, any one of the eight pristine world-class golf courses.
The stories of champions and the traditions of championship golf have been created at
Pinehurst since 1898. Pinehurst is the site of more championships than any other golf course in the
USA. Most recently, this historic North Carolina resort played host to the 2005 U.S. Open.
The majestic pines towering over historic Pinehurst rustle and softly whisper the legends
of golfers like Jack Nicklaus, Payne Stewart and those who have gone before and experienced one
of America's greatest golf courses and premier resorts.

Day 1
Arrive Raleigh/Durham Airport. Welcomed by local tour representative who will
assist you collecting your vehicle at the airport and road assist to the Pinehurst Manor Inn Resort.
The Manor offers a seamless blend of southern hospitality and charm, attention to the
finest details and just enough modern luxury to remind you that you are in the 21st century.
Taking its cue from the region's strong outdoors influence, the Manor makes you feel at
home with a Southern sun room and lounge, and ample-sized guest rooms. This was one of Arnold
Palmer's favourite spots, where he remembers visiting with his dad as a boy.
Other world-class facilities at Pinehurst include Pinehurst Spa and Wellness Centre,
Pinehurst Beach Club, Pinehurst West Lawn activity centre, swimming pools, 24 tennis courts, lawn
bowls, croquet, golf academy and state of the art practice facilities.
Relax at the hotel or visit the Pinehurst Harness Track.
The track has been a part of Pinehurst since 1915. The facility has long been used as a
winter training ground for Standardbreds. Races in the spring are a popular social event.
Day 2
Play any course of your choice at Pinehurst Golf Club after breakfast.
More than any other resort in America, eight courses grace Pinehurst's 2,000-acre
landscape. Ross, Fazio, Maples and Jones have left their mark to make each of them a unique test
of golf.
Enjoy a guided tour of Pinehurst historic village after your round.
Day 3
Play any course of your choice at Pinehurst after breakfast.
Crowned greens, carefully placed bunkers and strategic layout that tests both the long
and short game.
It is golf the way it was meant to be played, "the fairest test of championship
golf" ever designed by Ross, in his own words.
Explore the historic district of Aberdeen at your own pace.
Day 4
Play any course of your choice at Pinehurst.
It is also top 10 in the country, and site of more championships than any other
course in the country, including the 2005 U.S. Open Championship. The US Open will return in
2014 with a selection of 8 world-class courses to choose from
Go on a fun filled carriage ride in Pinehurst Village. Learn the history of days gone by in
the quaint Village of Pinehurst during this horse-drawn carriage ride that lasts approximately 30
minutes
Day 5
Enjoy a filling breakfast before exploring North Carolina at your own pace.
Visit the Lumber River State Park where you can explore the many hiking trails or hire
a canoe and explore the beauty of this area from the river.
The Lumber River is the only North Carolina black-water river to earn federal
designation as a national wild and scenic river.
The area offers excellent wildlife viewing and a "taste of natural communities
unique to blackwater streams, such as a cypress gum swamp and pine savannah." The
extensive swamp forests along the Lumber River provide excellent habitat for river otter, waterfowl,
and migratory songbirds.
Day 6
Head for the fairways of any course of your choice at Pinehurst after breakfast.
Drop in at the Seagrove Pottery Centre after your round.
There's no better way to explore the traditions of North Carolina pottery making than by
visiting the museums, pottery studios and galleries in and around Seagrove. In both Seagrove and
along NC Hwy 705, called the North Carolina Pottery Highway, the pottery artists of today are
continuing an age-old tradition brought about by the area's rich deposits of natural clay.
Evidence of pottery making in the North Carolina Piedmont goes back more than
6,500 years.
Native American pottery dating to 4,500 B.C has been found in the area, but modern
traditions date to the late 1700s when European immigrants began to settle here
Day 7
Play any course of your choice at Pinehurst after breakfast.
We recommend a visit to the award-winning Sandhills Horticultural Gardens. High points of
the twenty-five-acre landscape are the unusually extensive holly garden and a boardwalk
through the wetlands garden.
Other specialty gardens include the wonderfully named Sir Walter Raleigh Garden, a
rose garden, and a conifer garden. One of the nicest aspects of this site is the use of trellises and
other decorative elements like fountains and nicely placed benches, waterfalls, bridges, and
pools.
Day 8
Embark on a journey through history as you visit the nearby Revolutionary and Civil War
Battlefields after breakfast.
Explore the site of the most disastrous battle of the American Revolution where the
British under Lord Corn wallis defeated the Americans under General Horatio Gates.
It was here on August 16, 1780 that Revolutionary War hero Baron Johann deKalb was
mortally wounded.
The battlefield is listed as a National Historic Landmark.
Day 9
Play Pinehurst Course 2 after breakfast. Celebrating 100 years of championship golf, the
legacy of Pinehurst No. 2 continues.
It is a challenge not because of its length, topography, unruly routing, water features
or green size, but because of the combination of factors that have made thousands laugh
and cry at the same time
Enjoy the rest of your day relaxing next to the pool with a cool drink.
Day 10
Enjoy breakfast and spend morning at leisure before checking out. Return vehicle to the
airport and board your flight back home.
