St. Francis Bay is situated midway between Port Elizabeth and Plettenberg Bay on Southern Africa’s Garden Route.
Luxuriously appointed and overlooking the famed Jack Nicklaus designed links course, St Francis Golf Lodge is the perfect base from which to explore the many attractions of South Africa‘s fabled Garden Route and nearby malaria free game reserves.
This unique and exclusive paradise draws holiday-makers from all over the world to enjoy the glorious beaches lapped by the warm Indian Ocean, the excellent water-sport facilities, golfing, and a leisurely lifestyle.
With the Lodge situated just 2 minutes from the beach, you can make an early morning walk or swim part of your daily holiday regimen before heading for the fairways. And when the challenge of the Links gets too much, take the opportunity to play any of the many acclaimed courses in the area.
There are loads of options to keep the adventurer occupied too. Spend a day 4x4ing in Baviaanskloof. Take the plunge off Storm River Bridge – the highest bungee jumping in the world, experience deep-sea fishing, or kite-sailing.
For those who prefer life’s gentler pursuits – a horse ride along the beach or a leisurely boat cruise down St Francis Bay‘s gentle waterways, is the perfect way to take in the magical beauty and unspoilt surroundings of this idyllic part of the world.
Presiding over the 1st tee of the Jack Nicklaus designed Links course, St Francis Golf Lodge is a place where golf enthusiasts can escape to indulge their favourite pastime and relax in the beautiful surrounds of St Francis Bay in Southern Africa.
Thoughtful service, laid back comfort, and the opportunity to test your mettle on "the best links course I have ever designed" is all part of the St Francis Lodge experience. Guests can expect to leave this luxurious choice of accommodation with a replenished spirit and renewed love of the game.
A divine combination of elegant African style and luxury awaits the visitor. The lodge consists of two separate serviced houses, each with 5 luxuriously appointed en-suite bedrooms, a fully fitted kitchen and several relaxed living areas that take in the sweeping views of the golf course, ocean, and the gentle waterways of the surrounding riverside thatched village.
Relax in your state-of-the-art bathroom, complete with walk-in shower and oversized bath, twin basins and slick contemporary finishes.
Feast on a scrumptious home cooked breakfast on the verandah before teeing off – we provide temporary membership to enable guests to play the course at reduced rates and enjoy the clubhouse facilities.
Spend the afternoon relaxing on a deck chair besides the Lodge‘s seculed pool, but don‘t miss the decadent traditional afternoon tea held at the Clubhouse just 70 metres away. The 19th hole is the perfect place to reflect on the day’s play with your fellow golfers. This is also the best place to come and watch sporting events, with two 42 inch plasma televisions and on colder days, a crackling fire will accompany your glass of wine.
A two-minute stroll will lead you to the the St Francis Links Lighthouse Restaurant - beautifully perched overlooking the course. The restaurant welcomes Lodge guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as special occasions and functions. Sunday Lunch is a traditional affair. The dinner menu reflects various delicious seafood options prepared from only the freshest produce.
Alternatively, we can arrange in–house dinners with your own cook, or in–house braai (barbeque). We will do your bookings for lunch or dinner at various restaurants in town, The Port or in compliance with your request.
