Argentina is home to more golf courses than any other country in South America. The sport was
introduced in Argentina during the latter part of the 19th century by golf enthusiasts from Europe.
Today Argentina boasts a fantastic selection of exclusive clubs and luxury resorts and the country
has received the prestigious IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tour Operators) Award for
Golf Destination of the Year in 2007.
Legendary Argentine golf professionals like Angel Cabrera, Eduardo Romero and Jose Coceres
stand as the more charismatic personalities on the European Tour. Argentina is growing a host of
exciting young professionals such as Andres Romero and Daniel Vancsik. While they have all
claimed international fame with their quality play on tour, these personalities still remain firmly
planted in their native land of Argentina. And with good reason, as the culturally rich country is
home to more than its fair share of fantastic golf courses.
